Trenton city council debates recurring closures

TRENTON, Mo. - During their regularly scheduled meeting, the Trenton City Council discussed the idea of a recurring closure of Main Street for a possible event.

City Administrator Ron Urton says that the closures would allow vendors to set up one afternoon per month downtown.

The council voted to table the request from Main Street Trenton and the Trenton Downtown Improvement Association and re-visit the issue.

Other topics on the agenda included the discussion of creating an animal welfare committee to address the classification of "violent breeds." No action was taken on that item either.
