DES MOINES, Iowa - Law enforcement and other officials have a few reminders for boaters hitting the waters this Memorial Day weekend.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says people should make sure that all their safety gear is ready and working.
Susan Stocker, the boating law administrator and education coordinator for the Iowa DNR, goes on to say that boaters should make sure that they have a proper life vest for every person on the boat, a working fire extinguisher, a horn or whistle, and a throwable flotation device for any boat that is sixteen feet or longer.KXCV-KRNW
