JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Some good news from the Missouri Department of Agriculture, even though they're still urging caution.

The MDA lifted the suspension on waterfowl auctions, shows and swap meets in the Show-Me state, effective next Wednesday.

The MDA suspended those activities back in March to help stop the spread of the avian flu. Despite the lift, the MDA still encourages producers to continue stringent protocols.

Nine cases of bird flu have been confirmed in Missouri, involving six commercial flocks and three backyard flocks. Bird flu has been confirmed in 35 different states so far this year.
