MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State University is in mourning after news of a faculty member's passing. Dr. Daniel Smith, who's been with Northwest since 1999, passed away after a battle with cancer.
Outside of being an assistant professor of political science, Dr. Smith coached Northwest's Mock Trial Team, was an advisor for Pre-Law Society and Student Senate, and oversaw Northwest's legislative internship program that places students in the offices of state lawmakers every spring.
No word yet on funeral arrangements for Dr. Smith.
