JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation is offering landowners more ways to help manage deer population on their properties.
The MDC's Deer Management Assistance Program will allow landowners and hunters to buy firearms permits for antlerless deer beyond regular-season harvest limits.
Wildlife Biologist with the MDC Kevyn Wiskirchen says to be a part of the program you must first own a combined 500 acres of land and also have a population goal that you cannot meet without the program.
Enrollment is open now until the first of October. For more information go to mdc.mo.gov/dmap.
