Iowa DNR announces free fishing weekend

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is hoping you hit the lake this weekend. Today, tomorrow and Sunday is free fishing weekend, which allows Iowa residents to fish without a license.

Tyler Stubbs, Community Fishing biologist for Iowa DNR, says this weekend will be a great time to learn how to fish or introduce a friend or family member to the sport.

Hands-on fishing events will be offered across Iowa. For a list of the events visit iowadnr.gov/fishing.
