New poll released in MO GOP Senate race

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - A surprising name is leading the field of Republicans in Missouri. A new poll from The Hill and Emerson College shows former Gov. Eric Greitens with 26% support ahead of the Aug. 2 primary.

Attorney General Eric Schmitt trails at 20% support, followed by State Rep. Vicky Hartzler who has 16% support. The poll noted that 27% of respondents are still undecided. Greitens has shown to be leading the way in several polls over the past month.

One thing that could change the polls for Greitens, who resigned as governor in 2018 amid sexual assault and blackmail allegations, is a child custody battle in which he's been accused of violence and intimidation against his ex-wife and kids.
