TRENTON, Mo. - The Trenton City Council is taking the first few steps in it's airport runway improvement project. At its latest meeting, the council approved a $166,000 contract with Olsson Inc. who will conduct a flood plain study.
City Administrator Ron Urton adds that during a preliminary design report, it was noted that the airport has experienced flooding from the nearby Muddy Creek in the past.
Those incidents have forced closures of the runway.
