ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - A pest known as the True Armyworm may appear on the front doorstep of farmers in our listening area.
Wayne Flanary, a field specialist in agronomy at the University of Missouri, warns that the pest has been sighted migrating from the south, and asks farmers to issue caution.
Flanary adds to check fields once around every three days, and that there should be no more than four-and-a-half grown worms should be found per square foot. If found, corrective measures such as insecticides may be needed.
