COLUMBIA, Mo. - With the cost of food continuing to climb, more and more people are becoming reliant on food banks to get dinner on the table.
While residents are always encouraged to donate to food pantries and food banks, residents are also asked to be mindful of what they donate.
State Food Safety Specialist of the University of Missouri Londa Nwadike says items like opened or repackaged foods, food in damaged packages or dented cans, and spoiled and moldy food are just a few examples of things that shouldn't be donated.
