TRENTON, Mo. - Residents in one Missouri city will see water and sewage rates rising these next few years. At their most recent meeting, the Trenton City Council examined a water and sewage rates and costs of services study.
Recommendations from the studies show that the best course of action is an incremental increase of rates over the next five years.
City Administrator Ron Urton reports that increases over the next five years for water would start strong at 6.5%, with it dropping to 3.9% increases for years two and three, then dropping to a 1% increase years four and five.
For sewage, studies found there to be a 3% increase for years one through three, and a 1% increase for years four and five.
