ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says two St. Joseph teenagers are dead after a two-vehicle wreck in Buchanan County.
The Patrol says it happened at 6:10 a.m. last Friday on Route A, south of Route 0, about four miles south of St. Joseph.
Authorities say 46-year-old Joshua Gladieux, of Leavenworth, Kan., was driving a 2017 Chevy 3500 when it began to cross the centerline.
Officials say he tried to avoid an oncoming 2014 Ford Fiesta, but the two vehicles collided head-on while trying to get out of each other's way.
19-year-old Alexander Brown and an unnamed 14-year-old, who were in the Fiesta, were both declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the Fiesta, 20-year-old Alexis Lewis of St. Joseph, was taken to KU Medical Center by Lifenet air ambulance. The driver of the Chevy only suffered minor injuries.
