MARYVILLE, Mo. - It was a packed house at Monday night's city council meeting in Maryville; with one piece of property drawing the crowd.
City Manager Greg McDanel says the duplex would go on two pieces of property, 502 South Charles Street and 816 East Edward Street.
However, before the city council decided, several residents shared their concerns about the duplex, wondering what kind of impact it would have on property values in the neighborhood, snow removal concerns and whether or not this would mean more duplexes popping up around the city.
The city council ultimately approved the rezoning, from an “R-2” Single Family Residence Zone to an “R-2” Modified Residence Zone, in a 3-2 vote.
