CRESTON, Iowa - At it's latest meeting, the Creston City Council approved the purchase of a generator for the Waste Water Treatment Plant.
City Administrator Mike Taylor says the council applied for the grant through FEMA for around $70,000, which will pay for the majority of the cost of the new generator.
The council also approved the inspection of two bridges this year, as required by the state of Iowa, to ensure the bridge structures are safe to travel over and have the right weight limits.
