DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has a reminder for game bird hunters.
According to a press release from the DNR, all hunters who pursue migratory game birds are required to register for Harvest Information Program, either through the Go Outdoors Iowa app or at iowadnr.gov/waterfowl.
Migratory game birds mean more than ducks and geese; in Iowa it includes mourning doves, ducks, geese, coots, doves, woodcock, rails and snipe. If hunters have trouble with registration, they can call 515-725-8200.
