DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resource's Forestry Fire program will be offering grants for rural Iowa fire departments.
The grant will provide selected applicants 50% reinbursement for wildland fire equipment with a maximum reinbursement of $4,500 per department.
Before fire departments can apply for this grant, State Wildland Fire Supervisor Gail Kantak says that applicants must meet certain requirements before applying for it.
The grant application package and Wildlife Fire Report Form can be found at iowadnr.gov/fire. Applications are due by Oct. 15.KXCV-KRNW
