DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowans are invited to lend a helping hand later this week.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is asking residents to chip in on the sixth annual statewide volunteer day scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24.
Several parks across the state will be hosting volunteer events to help spruce up trails, buildings and other amenities, or pick-up trash, plant trees, clear trails and more.
Interested citizens can learn more by visiting iowadnr.gov/volunteer.
