JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation is on the lookout for this year's Christmas tree to sit on the Govenor's mansion lawn in Jefferson City.
The tree should be between 30 and 40 feet tall, and the MDC asks for one of the preferred species, Red Cedar, Norway Spruce, or White Pine.
Submitters are asked to include several pictures of different angles and distances, as well as their contacting phone number, and location of the tree.
Once a tree is selected, the cutting and removal will be organized by the MDC at no cost, and the owner will receive a "thank you" from the Governor and an invitation to the lighting ceremony in December.
All entries must be submitted by Oct. 7. For more information at mdc.mo.gov.
