JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - With the Missouri primaries just two months away now, the Secretary of State is on a mission to inform residents of the election law changes that took place this week.
Jay Ashcroft's office says on Election Day, a voter is required now to show a valid government-issued ID or cast a provisional ballot. Examples of a valid photo ID include a driver's license, passport or military ID.
If a registered voter doesn't have a government-issued ID, the secretary of state's office will help the individual acquire documents needed to obtain a non-driver license for voting purposes at no charge.
