JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says five people were killed in traffic crashes, one person died in a boating accident and one person drowned over the holiday weekend.

Despite the bleak numbers, Troop H, which looks over the northwest Missouri region, reported no fatalities. However, troopers investigated 13 crashes in northwest Missouri that resulted in six injuries.

Across the state, troopers investigated 276 crashes in Missouri, made 113 drunk driving arrests and 55 drug arrests, and investigating boating accidents that injured three people.

These statistics reported recently by the patrol could change if late deaths occur.
