DES MOINES, Iowa- The Iowa Department of Natural Resource says right now is the ideal time to start putting in shade trees before winter sets in.
This time of the year is ideal for planting shade trees to help trees condition to mild temperatures and adequate ground moisture.
Emma Hanigan, Urban Forestry Coordinator with the DNR, adds that before you start digging, always call Iowa One Call-8-1-1 to locate any underground utilities.KXCV-KRNW
