JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Things are heating up with one Missouri Department of Conservation training. The MDC is offering a training to use prescribed fire power to achieve land-management goals and help native plants and wildlife.
Spokesperson for the MDC Joe Jerek says using this method can keep down invasive weeds, improve livestock production, and open up landscape for plants and animals.
There is a $25 fee for the self-paced three-hour online course, followed by an all-day field exercise. The cost may be covered through the use of a coupon or code from an MDC private land conversationist.
