Nodaway County man suffers serious injuries in wreck

emergency

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a Guilford man is in the hospital after a two-vehicle crash near Maryville over the weekend.

The Patrol says 36-year-old David Morriss was driving a 2015 Chevy Silverado on U.S. Highway 136 just outside the Maryville Treatment Center.

Authorities say at 9:40 p.m. Saturday night, Morriss was driving too fast and struck the rear of a 2010 Toyota Highlander.

The Toyota stopped in the road while the Chevy travelled off the road into a fence before becoming airborne and striking a tree.

Morriss, who wasn't wearing his seatbelt, was taken to Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha by Clarinda Air Ambulance with serious injuries.
