ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says icy roads are to blame for a crash that seriously injured two Cameron residents.
The Patrol says the crash happened on Interstate 29, four miles north of St. Joseph on Tuesday morning. At 7:28 a.m., Casey Burnett, 31, lost control of the 2004 Chevy Silverado he was driving.
The Chevy went into the median and overturned before returning to the road upside down. Burnett and a passenger, James Lillard, 36, were seriously injured and taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
Neither of them were wearing their seatbelts.
