JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation wants to remind you to be safe during hunting season even if you're a non-hunter.
While it is ultimately the responsibility of the hunter to maintain safety by identifying their target and knowing what's behind it, the MDC suggests wearing bright orange clothing to be more visible.
Spokesperson for the MDC Joe Jerk adds that anytime you go into the wilderness you should tell someone which area you are going to as well as what time you expect to be back.
If you have a dog with you be sure to place a bright orange bandana or vest on it and always keep it on a leash. For more information, go to mdc.mo.gov.
