JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation will be offering a class on tanning deer hides next month in the KXCV/KRNW listening area.
The free class will be at the Pony Express Lake Conservation Area in DeKalb County, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12.
Archery and firearms deer hunters are encouraged to save hides and tallow for participation in the classes. Participants should wear old clothes and bring a rubber apron if they have one.
A heavy trash bag can be used in place of an apron. For more information, or to register for the event, visit short.mdc.mo.gov/4GR.
