With colder water temperatures and ice setting in the state, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources is reminding you to be safe.
Todd Robertson, River Programs Outreach Coordinator for the DNR, says that there is more than just hypothermia to worry about when entering cold water.
Robertson adds that you should have the proper paddling skills and clothing such as a wet or dry suit before going out on the water.
