Energy costs have been on the rise all year and the states in our listening area could do a better job at efficiency.
According to the website Wallet-Hub, Iowa is the 24th most energy efficient state in the country. As for other states in our listening area, Kansas ranked 32nd, Nebraska ranked 33rd and Missouri ranked 35th.
For the study, Wallet-Hub looked at energy efficiency in homes and cars and weighted it against national consumption patterns. The most energy efficient state was Massachusetts while the least energy efficient state was South Carolina.
