Trevor Hudgins' career at Northwest Missouri State is complete, but the men's basketball standout had one more milestone to accomplish before riding off into the sunset.
Hudgins is the first Bearcat to sign with an NBA team according to the Northwest sports information staff. The Manhattan, KS native signed a two-way contract with the Houston Rockets Thursday night.

A two-way contract offers versatility for young players by providing eligibility to play for the G-League team or be promoted to their NBA squad for up to 50 regular season games.
Hudgins didn't hear his name selected during the NBA Draft, but still drew plenty of interest from around the league with predraft workouts all over the country. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted shortly after the draft ended late Thursday that the Bearcat free agent had already selected his team.

A 2-time Division II Player of the Year.
"I can't be happier for him because of the person that he is," Northwest athletic director Andy Peterson said. "(He's as) humble as they come, hardworking as they come, from a great family, faith-based family. They love people and they love Northwest Missouri State, what he was able to do here and be a part of."
Hudgins is Northwest's all-time leader in points (2,829), 3-point field goals (435), assists (700), and free throw percentage (87.8%). He earned NABC Division 2 Player of the Year honors twice, and was the 2022 Bevo Francis Award winner.
