JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released figures from the New Year's holiday counting period, Dec. 30 - Jan. 2.
The Patrol says there were two fatalities and 75 injuries in 243 crashes, as well as 104 arrests for drunk driving. The two fatalities were in southern Missouri.
The fatalities is an increase of one from 2021, but significantly fewer injuries and crashes, 256 fewer injuries and 802 fewer crashes. Fatality statistics could change if a late deaths occur, or if other departments report fatal traffic crashes.
