Rock Port man pleads guilty to distributing fentanyl

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - An Atchison County man has plead guilty in connection with the death of another Atchison County man.

Quentin Carder, 23, plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and cocaine, which caused the death of another person, and one count of distributing fentanyl and cocaine, which caused the death of another person.

Federal court documents show Carder admitted to distributing four blue pills that appeared to be oxycodone, but were counterfeit pills containing fentanyl, to a victim on June 18, 2021.

The victim, listed in court documents as "C.L.," would later be found unresponsive after using one of those pills on June 20.

The victim was pronounced dead two days later at the hospital. Carder will serve a minimum of 20 years in federal prison, but could serve up to life.
