MARYVILLE, Mo. - The city of Maryville is hoping to increase public revenue when recreational marijuana becomes available.
At Monday night's meeting, the city council approved a ballot question for a three percent sales tax on recreational marijuana.
City Manager Greg McDanel says that Sunshine Dispensary in Maryville is in support of the ballot question.
McDanel adds that there are still several other issues that the city must deal with when it comes to recreational marijuana, mainly zoning and code issues.
We'll learn more about that at the next Maryville city council meeting scheduled for Monday, Jan. 23.
