ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The search for St. Joseph’s next police chief has officially begun.
That's according to a press release from the city which says Public Sector Search and Consulting, a firm that specializes in conducting national level recruitments for police executives, was hired by the city to assist in this search.
The search firm hosted multiple virtual meetings of diverse internal and external stakeholders and administered an online survey to both the police department and the community.
Responses to the surveys were significant with feedback from residents, businesses, police department employees and several community partners about the qualifications wanted in potential candidates.
The city hopes to announce a new police chief sometime this spring. The recruitment profile can be found on stjosephmo.gov. Dave Hart is still serving as the city’s interim police chief after Chris Connally retired last year.
