Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate is calling for every Iowa high school to conduct a voter registration drive next Wednesday.
Iowa law allows 17-year-olds to register to vote and there are currently more than 3,400 already registered. They can also participate in primary elections, as long as they turn 18 prior to or on the day of the general election.
Iowa law requires high schools to conduct two voter registration drives every school year.
