SJSD Superintendent arrested on possible DWI

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - An area superintendent was arrested over the weekend for allegedly driving while intoxicated.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that St. Joseph School District Superintendent Gabe Edgar was arrested at 6:48 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 59, south of Cook Road, for a possible misdemeanor DWI and failing to drive on the right half of the road.

No other information about the arrest has been given.

The school district did release a statement which says, "The St. Joseph School District is aware of the situation involving Doctor Gabe Edgar. While we understand questions may arise, we cannot provide additional information, as it relates to a confidential personnel matter of the district. Please be assured that the District takes the allegations seriously and will continue to monitor any developments regarding this matter."
