OREGON, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says two Kansas City women are in serious condition after a three-vehicle wreck. The Patrol says it happened on I-29, near the Nodaway River in Andrew County, at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say a 2006 Ford Explorer made an improper pass on a semi in the driving lane, causing a chain reaction with a MoDOT truck in the passing lane.

The semi and MO-DOT truck came to a controlled stop while the Ford went off the road and overturned. 51-year-old Lori Nightingale, the driver of the Ford, and 28-year-old Diamond Tatum, a passenger in the Ford, suffered serious injuries.

They were wearing their seatbelts. The drivers of the other vehicles were unharmed.
