Conception Abbey getting ready for next month's 5K

CONCEPTION, Mo. - How often do you get to see a monk run? That could happen on Saturday, May 6, which is Conception Abbey's annual Abbey Trails 5K run.

The 5K race takes runners out and back on a scenic paved road north of Conception Abbey. Participants in the two-mile walk will estimate their time of completion of the course winding through the beautiful Abbey grounds.

Individual awards are given for first and second place, male and female, in each age group. John Coffey, the voice of the Northwest Bearcats and KXCV-KRNW Radio, will once again serve as emcee at the awards ceremony and health fair.
