ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Even though today is Arbor Day, the Missouri Department of Conservation will be celebrating tomorrow.
The free program, set for 10 a.m. until noon tomorrow at the MDC’s Northwest Regional Office in St. Joseph, is an opportunity to learn about trees and a chance to take home some native tree species to plant.
Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and help visitors choose the right tree for the right place, and attendees will be allowed to take home two free tree seedlings.
Smokey Bear will also be in attendance to offer children and adults advice on preventing wildfires. Smokey will also be available for photographs with visitors. Registration is not required. For more information, call 816-271-3100.
