Amazonia man dies in single-vehicle wreck

AMAZONIA, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 42-year-old Amazonia man died in a single vehicle crash.

The Patrol says Todd Nelson was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am on Route T, half a mile north of Amazonia. At 2:30 a.m. Monday, the Pontiac traveled off the road, struck a tree stump and overturned.

Nelson, who was wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead nearly an hour later.
