Parties on the Parkway returns this month

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - With the arrival of May comes the return of Parties on the Parkway in St. Joseph. The series is hosted by the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce and the city of St. Joseph.

The first party on the parkway will be May 11 at SW Parkway and Kings Hill Drive. The bluegrass band, the Matchsellers, will be performing that night.

Then next month, the island rock and disco band, Yachtly Groove, will perform at SW Parkway and 28th Street on June 8.

Then on July 13th, the pop variety group, Jason and Brandon Duo, will perform at SW Noyes and Messanie. The rock band, Run With It, will perform on Aug. 10 at the Northside Complex, and the country band Vigil Annie rounds out the year on Sept. 14 at the Remington Nature Center.

All shows are from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A balloon artist will be available at each event, as will an ice cream truck. Admission is free.
