ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The St. Joseph Museums says one portion of their museum will be temporarily closed.
That's because last Thursday, the museum experienced a loss of water pressure and flooding by their fire suppression system due to a broken relief valve.
This flooding effected three floors on the Southwest corner of the South building. The Museum is working with Serv-Pro and its insurance company to mitigate the damage.
The Museum has experienced a considerable loss of exhibit structures and supplies in storage. Approximately 50 collections items were wet because of flooding.
Fortunately, no collections items have been lost due to the incident. According to a press release, the Museum has ordered a complete fire suppression and plumbing assessment of the South building.
The South Exhibit Wing will be temporarily closed, until exhibits can be rebuilt and new security measures put into place.
