ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - An area superintendent has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor drunk driving charge. St. Joseph School Superintendent Gabe Edgar pleaded guilty in front of Associate Circuit Court Judge late last week.
Edgar will not serve any jail time for the misdemeanor offense, but he did receive a six-month suspended sentence.
Edgar has previously apologized for the March 26 incident in which a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper pulled him over.
As for his job, the St. Joseph School Board held executive sessions in April after Edgar's arrest and decided to retain him without a formal vote. Edgar’s contract runs through June 2026.
