JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri farmers will hopefully have more weather data, thanks to the University of Missouri Extension Office.
The Office recently upgraded their weather station in Atchison County, which will provide real-time weather data for the agricultural community.
The South Atchison weather station, part of the Missouri Mesonet network, offers crucial information for planting and spraying. It provides updates on temperature, humidity, wind speed, soil temperature, and more.
The Midwest Data Center has partnered with M-U to enable real-time reporting by running fiber and providing internet service.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for August 22 during the annual field day. The upgrade was made possible by funding from the Missouri Legislature.
