CHILLICOTHE, Mo. - Mother Nature has put a damper on America's birthday in one part of our listening.

According to a press release, the Chillicothe City Council has voted to “postpone” the 4th of July fireworks display originally scheduled for July 3.

The press release cites extremely dry conditions in the area as the reason for canceling the fireworks display. In addition, all personal use of non-aerial and aerial fireworks have also been banned at this time.

The press release adds that these events will be rescheduled at a later date when weather conditions permit.
