JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance (DCI) joins the National Safety Council (NSC) to promote National Safety Month, emphasizing year-round safety awareness.

Accidents rank as the third leading cause of U.S. deaths, with 62 million seeking medical attention for injuries in 2021. Director Chlora Lindley-Myers encourages Missourians to prioritize safety during summer activities.

Key tips include safe travel, attentive swimming/boating, responsible fire usage, cautious home repairs, and proper operation of outdoor equipment.

DCI's role in protecting consumers through oversight of various industries makes this initiative significant. Visit dci.mo.gov for more information. Stay safe, Missouri!
