JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Several Missouri agencies have united their efforts to combat invasive weeds along the state's roadways.

The partnership between the Missouri Department of Transportation, Missouri Department of Conservation, and Missouri Prairie Foundation aims to control these harmful plants, benefiting both departments, the MPF, and the entire state.

MoDOT is implementing UTV spraying units statewide to strategically target specific invasive vegetation while preserving desirable roadside plants.

The collaboration involves shared resources, funding, and training to support MoDOT's herbicide application operations.

By removing invasive species, these operations not only prevent further spread but also create a healthier environment for native insects, wildlife, and people.

Support vehicles will assist the spraying crews, providing materials, water, and safety backup. While spraying activities are conducted from the roadside, motorists are advised to exercise caution and reduce speed when encountering these operations.
