ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - In a significant moment for the St. Joseph Police Department, Paul Luster has officially been sworn in as the new police chief.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Law Enforcement Center in downtown St. Joseph Monday afternoon, with city officials, family members, and officers from both St. Joseph and Kansas City in attendance.

Luster expressed his commitment to the community, emphasizing the importance of partnerships and engagement for effective policing.

As a 25-year veteran of the Kansas City Police Department, Luster brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He succeeds Chris Connally, who retired from the position last September.
