SAVANNAH, Mo. - The city of Savannah is clearing out an old eyesore to make way for new development.
An underdeveloped property between 507 North 5th and 308 West Highway 71, previously used to store piles of dirt and salvage, has been sold to a new owner with goals to turn it into a storage cube center.
After applying for rezoning, the city happily approved the new owners plans and request. City administrator Bruce Lundy expressed relief at the move, as the property in question has served little use for years.
Construction dates for the storage rental facility will begin soon, but no current dates have been given.
