Shenandoah getting ready for Everly Heritage Day

SHENANDOAH, Iowa - The Shenandoah Chamber and Industry Association is inviting you to celebrate Everly Heritage Day in Shenandoah on Aug. 1.

The event will feature a special concert by the Baldy Holly Band from the UK, taking place at the Depot Deli, just across the street from the Everly Brothers Childhood Home, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. under the big yellow striped tent.

Donations collected during the concert will support the installation of solar lighting at the Everly Brothers Highway 2 Mural, located east of Shenandoah.

Last year, the impressive 16-foot-high mural was painted by artist John Cerney and directs visitors to the childhood home museum.

The Baldy Holly Band, known for their incredible renditions of 1950s classics, including hits from Buddy Holly, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, and, of course, the Everly Brothers, will be performing at the concert.

They will also be filming a documentary while in Shenandoah. For more information, contact the Shenandoah Chamber and Industry Association at 712-246-3455.
