MO back-to-school sales tax holiday approaching

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - As kids get ready to go back-to-school, parents are getting ready for some big savings. The back-to-school sales tax holiday in Missouri will start Friday, Aug. 4, and last until Sunday, Aug. 6th, at midnight.

Certain back-to-school purchases like school supplies, computers, and clothing will be exempt from all state and local sales tax.

This means you can save on items like clothing under $100, school supplies up to $50 per purchase, and personal computers and peripherals under $1,500.

The best part is, you don't have to be a Missouri resident or student to participate. New this year, local sales tax will also be waived in all cities, counties, and special tax districts.
